Handmade Gift Exchange Summer 2012

I decided to again participate in the handmade gift exchange run by Linda Gardner of the blog Craftaholics Anonymous. This is my second time participating in this particular gift exchange. I blogged about my first time here. Unlike before, this time I only signed up for the local (within USA) exchange.

My crafting has matured a lot since my last exchange and I was very excited to be able to show that off. Also a little website called Pinterest has given me loads of creative inspiration. I used two tutorials in putting together my gift for my exchange giftee: DIY Stencil Pillow & Button Throw Pillow.

My gift recipient is Heidi Jacobs of the blog Heidi Jacobs Crochet & the Etsy store Swachica. Heidi mentioned that she loves Disney with her favorite movie being Peter Pan. She also loves warm neutrals for decorating her home. I decided on a throw pillow, made from super soft corduroy, inscribed with a quote from her favorite Peter Pan & adorned with big black anchor buttons. This is a pillow cover which will make it super easy to clean and because both sides have visual interest I would consider it to be reversible.

My gifter is Karen from the blog Kraft Saturday and she made me this beautiful statement necklace:

She took my love of boldness & orange and ran with it. This will be a great layering necklace and I'm excited to work it into my wardrobe.

It has been another fun run & I'm looking forward to the Fall Exchange.
