What a year it has been! Truthfully there should have been more blog posts up to this point but who am I kidding! I'm a busy wife and mom and with the business booming the bloggity blog just got left by the wayside. This final post of 2010 will serve as the catch all for all the blog posts that should have been :)
Um...what happened this month? Well I made the kids Halloween costumes which I blogged about here. Also I'm realizing at this moment that I am horrible at taking pictures! I have none of the kids on Halloween this year. I do have a snap shot of Aaliyah dressed up with her dance class:
That's really bad! I gotta get better at that for 2011! The new camera I'm planning on purchasing should help with that. The camera I have now does not work well in low light and just my luck, most of the picture opportunities I have are in low light.
This month marked the first time I took my handmade items to the masses via a good 'ol fashioned craft fair! I was extremely nervous about this venture but in the end it was a lot of fun and I gained a huge amount of experience, met some fellow artists and learned a lot about my products and how they appeal to others.
November also marks Aaliyah's 4th birthday. Sadly once again I missed the mark and have no pictures of this day. It wasn't much to write home about. We started the day off with a waffles & eggs breakfast which is her favorite and then I took her to the toy store where she picked out a new doll to add to her collection. She then had her early childhood screening and on the way home we stopped by the grocery store to pick up her birthday cake. We watched a movie...I can't even remember what it was! Played a few board games and that was it! I felt so horrible that it wasn't something more grand but Aaliyah calmed my fears when later that night while I was tucking her into bed she whispered to me "This was the best birthday ever!"
Gosh, this is the busiest month out of our year as far as I'm concerned. We have so much jam packed into this month it's enough to make your head spin. Whew...so here it goes!
The month started out with Uriyah's holiday choir concert. The boys were so cute in their little santa hats! Poor thing, Uriyah is so tiny his cummerbund just floats around his waist! This is his second year and his vocal teacher is amazed at how focused he is with his voice. He knows all the words to his songs and is helping the newer boys. With Nate & I being past choral singers, we couldn't be more proud of him!
Then it was Uriyah's 6th birthday. We rented a few movies (Toy Story 3 & Shrek 3) bought some pizza and ate some snowman cake. Not many pictures but I did manage to get one of the cake. This is what is so great about a birthday so close to Christmas, the bakery at the grocery store is making holiday cakes that you can buy right off the shelf!
Four days later is Christmas. The kiddies didn't get much this year as far as gifts go. Nate and I want to make sure they know the true meaning of the holiday and so they each get one big gift, one small gift and then a few gifts to share with each other. This year was the first year we did stockings. I hand beaded their initials on them and I think the kids enjoyed that a lot. Here is a picture of the kids in front of the tree bright and early Christmas morning:
Ok, so I think that is it! What a year it has been! We are very much looking forward to 2011. Uriyah will be in his first dance competition. Aaliyah will be starting her third year of dance and trying out for the competition line. Nate will begin his final year of school (YES!) and I will hopefully be starting a new full time job and pushing my business to new heights. So until next year...wait I feel like I'm forgetting something?
Oh yes, today is my 29th birthday...
